There’s a particular sweetness to the later half of summer—a kind of golden-hour feeling that lingers not just in the sky, but in the way we live, eat, and gather. The days are still warm, but the light has softened; the gardens are unruly in the best way, and the air is filled with a gentle awareness that the season is beginning its slow descent into autumn. This month’s mood board captures the essence of that moment in time: a blend of leisure, nature, and old-world charm that feels effortless yet deeply considered.
I try to bring that same sense of summer ease into my interiors—throwing open windows to let in the breeze, layering lightweight linens, and keeping a simple wooden stool by the door for sunhats and picnic baskets. In a truly lived in home, utility and beauty live side by side; a well-worn stool becomes both a perch and a piece of sculpture.

Long lunches on the patio—white wine, briny olives, a basket of crusty bread—are summer rituals worth protecting. Just as in design, the table is about balance: the crispness of a linen cloth, the warmth of weathered wood, the cool glass catching the light. These small sensory layers create a kind of everyday luxury that defines slow living.
As the season tilts toward autumn, I find myself lingering in these moments—whether on the patio with a glass in hand, or in a sunlit room with the curtains gently swaying. The late summer mood is about embracing what’s here now, with gratitude and a touch of nostalgia, knowing that each passing day only makes the memory richer.
