There’s something about July that feels like the world is stretched out in slow motion—in the best way. Maybe it’s the golden light that lingers past 9PM or taking lunch breaks on your patio as you soak in the sun. Whatever it is, this month brings out the dreamiest version of everyday life—and this moodboard is a compilation of the vibes I'm taking into the rest of summer.

Candles, lamp, woven bag, and limes against a sea backdrop. Table with peaches, bread, and wine on striped cloth. White top and denim shorts. Relaxed vibe.
Inspired by the breezy Italian coast, golden hour, tan lines and beach walks.

In the summer months I tend to live in a denim skirt or cutoffs and a elevated tank, like the one featured here from Reformation one of my favourite stores of upgraded basics and flowing floral dresses. For homewares I'm gravitating towards organic shapes and nature inspired elements.

This is the season of living by feeling rather than schedule. Evenings are for soft lamp light, flickering candles, and maybe journaling by the beach while your shoulders still smell like sunscreen. Or better yet, gathering with friends over a striped tablecloth, sharing bites, sips, and stories until the stars appear. Let your days be inspired by small pleasures. July isn’t about doing—it’s about being. Here’s to a month filled with sun-drenched slowness, iced coffee, and effortless joy.

WHERE TO EAT

Forr | Hvar Harbour Waterfront Restaurant - Hvar Town

The restaurant attached to the Hvar Riva Marina hotel was the perfect setting to enjoy a leisurely lunch lounging on one of the comfy seats while people watching for hours. They have an extensive cocktail menu with some of the best cocktails we had on the entire trip.

Gelateria Emiliana - Split

A super authentic gelato spot right in the city centre of Split. Be ready for a line, this place gets especially busy for the after dinner rush. Some of the best, creamiest, unique flavours of gelato I've ever tried.

Kod Barba Luk - Stari Grad

Enjoy fresh seafood caught locally at this beautful setting by the sea. The langoustines and squid ink ravioli are not to be missed.

Lucian Kantan - Dubrovnik

A cute little spot on one of Durbovik old town's side streets. The small tapas style dishes are perfect for sharing and sampling a bit of everything. Each dish we had was inventive, perfectly cooked, and used fresh local ingredients.

Bota Å are Oyster & Sushi Bar - Dubrovnik

Although not traditional cuisine in Croatia this sushi spot was one of my favourites. It was fresh, flavourful, and simple after a long day of walking around the old town.

WHERE TO STAY

Our trip was split into three places, Split, Hvar island, and Dubrovnik. I'd recommend getting around by ferry and bus as it was convenient and affordable. Our most memorable hotel stay were on Hvar, to make the most of staying on the island we split our time there in Hvar Town & Stari Grad for a mix of scenery and vibes.

Hvar Riva Marina - Hvar Town

Conveniently located on the marina right where you will catch the ferry, it's close enough to the towns centre to walk to dinner while still feeling a relaxing ambience once you're sitting at their marina front restaurant. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the grand terrace suite, a truly exceptional room with soaking tub, separate sitting room, private terrace and luxe king sized bed.

Hvar Places Hotel - Stari Grad

For the second part of our time on Hvar we traveled by bus to Stari Grad. The town centre here is much quieter but the hotel had no shortage of things to do. This property is huge with different accommodations from private villas to suites close to the action of the pool and restaurant. There is a large pool, sea access, multiple areas for lounging outside, live music, daily activities, shuttle service, and on site restaurant.

WHAT TO DO

Spend hours getting lost in the streets of Dubrovnik. Make sure you stay for golden hour to enjoy the beauty as the street lanterns turn on and light the old buildings in a beautiful glow.

Walk the city walls of Dubrovnik. For some of the best view of the city this is a must do activity. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, apply sunscreen and stay hydrated! This walk usually takes 2 hours if you make frequent stops for photo ops.

Enjoy an afternoon in luxurious style and lounge seaside at the Beach Club Hvar. There are plenty of free beaches and local spots where you can set up your own towel and enjoy a day picnic however if your looking for a bit of luxury I highly recomend a beach club. We enjoyed lunch and drinks at our lounge chairs while soaking in the sun and salty air.

Take a boat tour to the Pakleni Islands. This trip is convenient when your staying in Hvar Town, you can choose from group or private tours and even renting your own boat. We opted for a group tour and enjoyed a day of traditional Croatian cuisine, a stop at a popular beach, sunbathing on the boat deck and jumping off the side of the boat into the refreshing water.

Visit a local market in Split. Grab some fresh fruit, shop the local craft vendors and chat with the locals. Going to open air markets when travelling is one of my favourite ways to get a sense of the culture and history of the country I'm visiting.

June has officially arrived, and with it comes that unmistakable shift—longer days, warmer evenings, and the fresh energy that only the beginning of summer can bring. Our June aesthetic is rooted in simplicity: barefoot in the grass, bowls of citrus fruits on the kitchen counter, sunlight filtering through linen curtains. It’s a gentle invitation to step outside, breathe deeply, and let the season wrap around you.

Here's to a refreshing summer
Here's to a refreshing summer

I'm inspired by the tangy brightness of lemons, oranges, and grapefruits—nature’s own colour palette of sunshine. These cheerful pops of yellow and orange pair perfectly with clean whites, soft creams, and earthy neutrals to create a look (and feeling) that’s equal parts refreshing and serene.

Florals are also in full bloom—both in nature and in my seasonal wardrobe. Think breezy dresses, floral table linens, and bouquets picked straight from the garden or the local market. It’s all about effortless beauty and connecting with the outdoors, whether you’re hosting a picnic, enjoying your morning coffee on the patio, or taking an evening stroll as the sky turns golden.
